Coneeect International Symposium

"Next Step into the Future of Entrepreneurship Education"

September 10th and 11th 2015 in Berlin, Germany

The first Coneeect International Symposium "Next Step into the future of Entrepreneurship Education" took place on September 10 and 11 2015 in Berlin. Organised by the coneeect partner ptj, it became a great success. it was an excellent opportunity for all coneeect partners, faculty and alumni to meet and share their experiences with colleagues from across the globe. in the presence of the european commission (simone baldassari and peter baur), the oecd (jonathan potter), the european university association (rita morais), efer (jános vecsenyi) as well as the project consortium, and 130 enthusiastic participants three successful project years were presented the symposium has seen the launch of the Coneeect handbook 1.0, publishing innovative practical examples as well as the Coneeect compendium, i.e. interactive video clips of entrepreneurship education. the design and methodology of the five weeks of Coneeect training for teachers became tangible through interactive sessions with the faculty experts. thematic workshops facilitated the deeper discussion on particular aspects of entrepreneurship education, like female entrepreneurship or the question how to motivate people from various disciplines towards entrepreneurial thinking. helpful instruments and tools were presented like heinnovate, the u(niversity)-b(usiness) tool, the triple helix as well as the persona approach. A poster exhibition facilitated the exchange amongst participants sharing more of the interesting approaches towards entrepreneurship education.

To honour the effort of developing and sharing new approaches for entrepreneurship education, Coneeect awards were granted: Regina Brautlacht (Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg) could convince with the poster of greatest practical innovation. Vera Petkantchin (Junior Achievement Bulgaria) was granted the Coneeect award for the best practice presented as a Coneeect story in the handbook. The award for facilitating the Coneeect Community and future open faculty was given to Karen Böhme (PtJ).

To take the announced step into the future, the Coneeect open faculty was launched as well as shaped in more detail during the symposium: All interested activists of entrepreneurship education are invited to participate in the future development of this platform, offering a collection of instruments, a tool box, a best practice collection as well as a living network within the European Entrepreneurship Educators' community.
